Summary: Compliance specialist to assist our BSA
Officer with suspicious activity monitoring, implementation of new
monitoring software, develop and maintain policies and procedures
for suspicious activity related monitoring, manage special projects
as assigned by the Bank’s General Counsel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Review suspicious activity alerts generated by the Bank’s suspicious
activity monitoring system; research identified transactions and
accounts for potential suspicious activity; attend meetings of
Suspicious Activity Reporting Committee; prepare suspicious activity
reports; and assist BSA Officer with assigned tasks.
Review new account documentation, CIP and Beneficial Ownership
information; review account maintenance requests/actions; and perform
enhanced due diligence for selected accounts.
Develop, manage and maintain policies, procedures and program
guidelines for special compliance projects in development or under
consideration by Bank’s Senior Management Team and its General Counsel.
Supervisory Responsibilities include the following:
Manage and supervise assigned staff in accordance with the
organization’s policies and applicable laws and regulations; training
employees; planning, assigning and directing projects; appraising
performance; rewarding or disciplining employees; and addressing
complaints and solving problems.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration, economic,
or similar discipline from a four-year college or university, or three
to five years related banking experience and/or training, or
equivalent combination of education and banking experience required.
Bank Secrecy Act knowledge and experience highly preferred;
Experience tracking, reviewing and reporting suspicious activity using
intelligent monitoring platforms, specifically Verafin, also highly
preferred; Certifications as a Certified Bank Compliance Officer
(CBCO), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or Certified
Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) preferred, but candidates
without preferred certifications must be willing to pursue such certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ideal candidate possesses a high-level attention to detail with an
understanding of business accounts and the ability to analyze and
categorize transactions types, sources and volumes; ability to
understand federal and state laws and regulations, and prepare
policies, procedures and programs based upon the candidate’s
interpretation of those laws and regulations; ability to write and
communicate effectively and professional with staff, management,
auditors and examiners; ability to effectively navigate various types
of software solutions, including particularly Microsoft Office,
Windows and the Bank’s core software and suspicious activity
monitoring platforms; and ability to work independently and prioritize
tasks to meet deadlines.
