Secondary Marketing Administrator


Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to analyze and manage interest rate and credit risk for mortgage loans related to maintaining loans in portfolio and selling loans into the secondary market. This position will performs a wide range of functions, including mortgage pricing, loan locking, whole loan trading, mortgage pooling, product development, management reporting activities, and monitors suspended/audit files. This position also acts as internal lock desk.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


1. Ensure that secondary marketing strategies are executed in a timely and efficient manner to meet the directives of senior management.


2. Direct interest rate and delivery risk management of trades assigned to adjustable rate mortgage, conventional and conforming loan products of the company.


3. Perform daily pricing of mortgage products based on management inputs.


4. Meet or exceed the assigned product profit goals as established by senior management.


5. Monitor and report forecasts of projected profit and loss figures for all deliveries on a monthly basis.


6. Be responsive to the needs of production team by providing the most competitive products, rates and prices available.


7. Execute whole loan transactions on a mandatory and best effort basis.


8. Reconcile and confirm trading activity with 3rd party and internal shipping and accounting departments.


9. Maintains Lock-desk; accepts, record and maintain all lock-in records. Monitors rate lock expiration dates and manage extension requests. Purchase forward commitments from investor agencies, when appropriate. Maintain and develop product parameters for new and existing products in pricing system.


10. Responsible for ensuring that all loans should be shipped to investors within 72 hours of disbursement.


11. Oversee and coordinate all conditions and status updates of suspended loans.


12. Ensure the accuracy of reports generated from the Motivity system.


13. Responsible for ensuring all loans should be funded by investor outlets within 30 days of closing.


14. Provide ongoing reporting as directed by management.


15. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and/or Experience


Bachelors degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Mortgage banking and/or financial certifications preferred.

Prefer 5 years’ experience in mortgage banking, secondary marketing and/or accounting.

Secondary Marketing department experience and strong accounting aptitude required.



Language Skills


Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.


Mathematical Skills


Highly disciplined attention to financial detail.


Reasoning Ability


Strong quantitative and analytical skills.



Ability to work effectively on a team in high-pressure situations.

Ability to analyze operations conditions, take corrective action as required, project results and implement strategies to accomplish goals.

Ability to quickly identify and adapt to rapidly changing market conditions.



Computer Skills 


Good computer skills; working knowledge of spreadsheets, financial analytical research tools, and relational databases; Excel preferred.
