Job Description:

Summary: Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for 1st Mortgage Real Estate loans, HELOC’s, and closed end second mortgages by performing the following duties.

Experience and Skills:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Reviews, processes, closes and administers loan proposals.

 

Interviews applicants and requests specified information for loan applications.

 

Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation.

 

Corresponds with or interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.

 

For any in-house loan a loan approval request is made to Sr. Loan Committee or Sr. Management depending upon loan amount.

 

Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.

 

Confers with underwriter to aid in resolving mortgage application problems.

 

Analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Must possess superior people skills and sales ability.

Comments: Must have the ability to create long lasting relationships to the benefit of the loan officer and the bank. The position requires some travel to attend various conferences and banking related programs. The position requires the ability to work before and after normal business hours to attend various community events and client meetings
