Job Description:

Summary

The Summer 2024 Internship will introduce students to key banking principles to develop critical business skills in one of many available operations teams or business lines. As an Intern, you will learn to apply your academic knowledge to real life business scenarios within the Banking industry. In our Internship Program, you will be responsible for learning and experiencing key job duties of assigned positions within your department, in addition to assisting and collaborating with other areas of the bank to meet overall business objectives throughout the summer.

Experience and Skills:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn processes, procedures and assist department with assigned tasks.
  • Collect and analyze information, gather questions/notes.
  • Utilize applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook to complete letters and memos, data entry, working with spreadsheets, scheduling appointments.
  • Provide administrative support: e.g., fax, photocopy, filing, answer phones, open and distribute mail, respond to emails, prepare files.
  • Complete assigned Regulatory University courses.
  • Attend meetings and/or functions as required.

Required Skills

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from Springfield, IL.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Must display maturity and an elevated level of professionalism.
  • Demonstrates acceptance of responsibility; shows pride in work performed; demonstrates flexibility in acceptance of assignments and schedules; maintains professional behavior and appearance; exhibits dependability.
  • Superior multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative, energy and confidence completing projects with limited supervision.
  • Good judgment and discretion working with highly confidential information.
  • Strong PC skills - proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures. (e.g., filing, scanning, correspondence etc.)

Required Experience

  • Minimum of H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Preferred candidate will be a first (1st) or second (2nd) year currently attending college/university.
  • Should be working toward a minor/major in the business or financial industry.
