Job Description:

Summary

Position responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance of building systems. Must have working knowledge of all building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary.

Experience and Skills:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the position.

I nspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.

Conduct periodic general preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights, etc.), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), re-circulating air systems, water pumping systems, cooling plants and all plumbing system components.

  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Perform all assigned tasks so as to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site.
  • Prioritize service calls and follow-up upon completion; troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend equipment/service upgrades.
  • Work with Facilities Manager in planning and controlling annual and capital budgets.
  • Be responsive to tenant complaints in the areas of safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and
  • environmental needs through both personal contact and work order systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of all work areas.

Education and/or Experience

High school degree or equivalent required; two years related experience and/or training required in area of mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires ability to communicate effectively and clearly (both written and verbally); Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Mathematical Skills

Requires ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite products required.

Reasoning Ability

Requires ability to use good judgment in making routine and complex decisions; Must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell products and Services; Ability to accurately handle large sums of cash; Must be goal oriented and able to achieve individual goals as well as work as a team player to achieve departmental and/or Bank goals; Flexibility is necessary with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.

Other Required Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a good driving record; must have a valid Illinois driver’s license.
